Senior Consultants Dr. Lana Al-Aghbar and Dr. Brent Mutsch had the great pleasure of representing Search Associates at the Fall Leadership Conference of the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas School (NESA). Approximately 400 educational leaders representing 65 schools across the region convened at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai this October 17-20. The conference inspired participants to explore the theme “Vantages and Viewpoints,” which the organization describes as “the stories we tell and the actions we take…[to] cultivate new perspectives on education.”
As a gold sponsor of the conference, Search Associates was proud to sponsor Dr. Elin Kelsey’s keynote session: Facing Our Earth – Educating for the Symbiocene: How Regenerative Schools Empower Future Leaders for a Sustainable World. A leading environmental scholar, Dr. Kelsey is recognized as a spokesperson in the area of evidence-based hope and a leader of hopeful, solutions-focused environmental movements.
Dr. Kelsey led a panel of specialists in a conversation about the evolving purpose of education in fostering a regenerative mindset, the importance of inner development and well-being, our connection to nature, and our place on this planet. Joining Dr. Kelsey on the panel were Ms. Ivy Yan, Director of Inspire Citizens Eco-Media Programs; Dr. Rand Harrington, Director of the American Embassy School, New Delhi; and Karan Shroff, Grade 12 Student, at the American School of Dubai, UAE. Dr. Kelsey’s commitment to environmental education and to promoting actions that advance sustainability is shared by Search Associates.
As the mission of Search Associates is to match quality international schools with exceptional educators to serve and enrich learning worldwide, we value our on-going partnership with NESA as one of the most powerful ways in which we directly contribute to international education.
